Core structure and working principle of oil outlet valve

Sep 03,2025

Valve body: connected to the outlet of the high-pressure oil pump, with a fuel passage inside. Conical valve core: It is pressed onto the valve seat by a spring to control fuel flow.

1. Basic structure
The oil outlet valve usually consists of the following parts:

Valve body: connected to the outlet of the high-pressure oil pump, with a fuel passage inside.
Conical valve core: It is pressed onto the valve seat by a spring to control fuel flow.
Pressure reducing ring: a groove in the middle of the valve core used to regulate fuel pressure.
Guidance section: Ensure stable movement of the valve core under high pressure.
Spring: Provides preload force to keep the valve core closed in a non working state.
2. Working process
Upstream plunger (oil supply stage):
When the plunger of the high-pressure fuel pump compresses the fuel upwards, the oil pressure increases and overcomes the spring force to push the outlet valve open. The fuel enters the high-pressure fuel pipe through the outlet valve and eventually reaches the injector.
Downward movement of plunger (stop oil supply stage):
When the plunger descends, the oil pressure decreases and the oil outlet valve quickly closes under the action of the spring. At this point, the pressure relief ring enters the valve seat, cutting off the fuel return path. At the same time, the fuel in the high-pressure fuel pipe experiences pressure fluctuations due to the interception effect of the pressure relief ring, helping the injector to quickly stop spraying and avoid oil dripping.
